It has been said that young children have a greater acceptance of a personal family loss than adults, but death has very often been treated as a family taboo, yet, children are more understanding and sometimes stronger than parents give credit for.
Could this be attributed to their closeness to spirit? It is not until a child reaches the age
of ten that the Earth starts to impact more.
In spite of this, children are being subjected to more and more disturbing scenes of tragedies on
television as we witness the terrible events elsewhere in this world.
Children should always be told the truth, as should all peoples at all times. It just remains that there are ways of telling a child something which can be explained with understanding and graciousness,
the other eternal necessity of spirituality. If your child should ask you about the wars, famines
and natural disasters that are occurring just at this time, then you should answer. All people,
children or adults, should always be given a response to a question because, again, this is
graciousness. Whether you choose to give the answer or not is you perogative, but a reply
is always required. A good counsellor would be brief, while always giving truth, but explaining
with kindness and care.
Talk about these disasters and explain that in life there is a purpose in all things, and a greater
wisdom behind what happens. All life is tapestried, both on an individual level and universally.
If the purpose is understood than life's tragedies become easier to accept. We become wiser through our
acceptance and sadness becomes a little more easier to bare. Afterall, "How can we know happiness, unless we know sadness".
For the purpose of life, "we need to know all things, see all things and do all things before we reach a stage of evolvement
spiritually and then we do not need to reincarnate on this Earth any more".
When one knows
Joy in Sadness,
Temperance in Anger,
Humilty in Triumph,
Then, one day,
that one will walk the Plain of the Ancients.
Paddina Cole (1915-2003)
Spirit have around for a lot longer than the history of this Earth and the “Adam and Eve” story may not be the exact truth of how life started on this planet. For the truth it may be necessary to make a spiritual application for the creation story to discover what really happened all that time ago. One day, man may come to realisement of his true heritage, the spiritual one , not the short lived family association that people often become obsessed with.
In knowing that we have been many different people in different lives before, then we come to the realisement that we are a brotherhood of man thoughout this world. Having been black or white, man or woman, of whatever race, creed or religion then we have no reason to see ourselves as a nation which alienates others in this world. As a world nation we should care about our spiritual kin in other countries.
